First Responders have notoriously been behind the times when it comes to technology especially when it comes to patient care reporting. Hospital systems have been on electronic systems for some time , but EMS or fire systems are all over the map. from archaic technology systems to paper reporting still. One of my dreams as a paramedic is to have a system in place that 1. you never have to duplicate efforts… ever and 2. it is small enough that it doesn’t become a burden and 3. it syncs with every other first responder’s pcr program or device along with every hospital’s pcr system. This will just streamline a long time problem we have in EMS… paperwork!
