BTS – Dearborn Fire Department

It is not every department that can say that every member of their department is a paramedic, nor is it possible.  There are conflicting views on this as we figure out what is the best solution for our communities, but one thing is clear in Dearborn, Michigan… it is working.  They are a progressive department that prides themselves on how they serve their community.  Local 412 has been around since 1920 and their dedication to the service, combining both EMS transport and Fire suppression is not new, but whole heartedly embraced by all the members of the department.

Sometimes when you meet some peers in the field you just know that you would fit in and this department welcomed us with open arms. Lt Paramedics Stuart Debrowsky and Steve Worden along with their Batallion Chief of EMS Jeff Beutner leading the charge I know if I ever get back into fire this is the department that truly represents what I stand for as a paramedic.  It is refreshing to know that in a world where we are all trying to find our place, I found a department that is as progressive as I am.
