On September 9th, 2010 in San Bruno California at about 6:11pm a 30″ gas pipeline exploded.  First reports in stated that there was a thought that this might have been a plane crash as it was so close to the San Francisco Airport.  Paramedics Forest and Mike walked us through what their experience was being the first ambulance on scene.  As they gave their first radio report to update dispatch “This is a shit show”.  They began running door to door evacuating houses the comment “This is what we trained for” came out and the day unfolded.  As I interviewed them about the event we coincidentally came to the site as they opened the road exactly one year after and was able to take in the full impact this had on the community.
